Students design giraffe barn with Animal Adventure's Jordan Patch

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - A construction challenge faced by Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville has inspired some elementary school students to tackle a project of their own.
The 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at Chenango Bridge Elementary recently hosted Animal Adventure owner Jordan Patch.
Last year, the animal park had to scramble to build a new barn for its giraffe Tajiri in just a month after it learned that he wouldn't be moving to another park as planned.
The story inspired the students to come up with their own ideas for what a giraffe barn should look like.
Under the guidance of STEAM teacher Carrie Tronovitch, the kids did research, designed a floor plan, worked on their budget and are creating 3-D models.
