An annual Fall attraction honors some local treasures.
The Stoughton Farms corn maze located at 10898 State Route 38 in Newark Valley returns for its 13th year.
This year’s design highlights the history and nostalgia of our area’s carousels.
Broome County has the largest number of historic carousels with six merry-go-rounds that are free to ride.
While the correct pathway can be walked in under thirty minutes, most visitors require one to two hours to travel through it.
Owner Tim Stoughton says while it’s not easy to put this on every year, he says the fun everyone has makes it all worthwhile.
“I guess the favorite part really is, because its so much work, is to watch kids having fun. You get to see families doing something together and it’s satisfying to see the kids having a lot of fun,” he said.
There are a variety of other activities for kids including hayrides, a jumping pillow and a cow train.
The maze will be open this Saturday through Halloween.
Hours are 9 am to 6 pm Monday to Saturday and 9 am to 5 pm on Sundays.
There will be a special flashlight maze option the last weekend of October until 9:30 pm.
