State Police held a news conference today unveiling new information in the home invasion and murder that took place in Apalachin.
According to police, early yesterday morning 2 men were allowed inside the house at 5 Dorothy Road.
Following a struggle, the men shot and killed 32 year old Brian Argro.
A 20 year old female who was staying in the house with Argro and unharmed, called police and gave a description of the suspects.
At around 6:30am the first suspect 40-year-old Curtis Cuttino was located on route 434.
The second suspect 46-year-old Michael McVicker took a bus to Monticello where he was taken into custody.
New York State Police Captain Scott Heggelke says this was not a random act but they are still unsure of the motive.
He says both suspects are from the York Pennsylvania area so the lack of a car leads them to believe there were other accomplices.
Scott Heggelke NYS Police Captain says “What brought them here. Also we know there was a couple of cars seen on Dorothy Road 5:30ish, sometime in those early morning hours. We would like to know who were in those cars. A reasonable person would say they probably didn’t walk there. So who dropped them off.”
Both McVicker and Cuttino have been charged with 2nd degree murder.
Heggelke says the investigation is ongoing and they are focused on connecting what the relationship was with the suspects and the victim.
