Local News

The next installment of the Industry Summit series will focus on one of the Southern Tier’s biggest industries.

Southern Tier 8’s upcoming summit will focus on bringing together those working in agriculture and food.

Speakers will include New York State Commissioner of Agriculture Richard Ball, Chobani’s Mark Broadhurt, and Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo who will talk about the emerging hemp industry.

Kaelan Castetter, CEO of the hemp infused wine company Sovereign Vines, says hemp provides a perfect example for the growth potential of agriculture in the Southern Tier.

“We work with product manufacturers, cultivators, processors and retailers in this thriving industry and connecting the supply chain together. So the fusion of agriculture and industry is especially apparent in the hemp industry.”

The summit will take place May 23rd at the Doubletree Hotel from 8 to 3:30.

Registration is 69 dollars per person and includes access to all workshop sessions, lunch, networking and the happier hour featuring a variety of local flavors.
