Red panda cub born at Binghamton Zoo

Local News

Another endangered baby animal has been born in Greater Binghamton.

The Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park has announced the birth of a red panda cub on July 7.

The unnamed cub has been with its mother, Mei-Li, since birth and has been growing as expected, weighing in at 387 grams which is about 13 ounces.

The zoo participates in a red panda species survival program.

Last year, Mei-Li gave birth to twin cubs, however one was born in poor health and did not survive.
