Primaries in 19th and 23rd districts

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Tuesday is primary day for candidates running for federal office in New York State.

For most of Greater Binghamton, there will be no primary as Republican Claudia Tenney and Democrat Anthony Brindisi do not have challengers in their respective parties.

However, in the 19th Congressional District, which includes the Broome County Town of Sanford, there are seven candidates in the Democratic Primary including Brian Flynn, Erin Collier, Gareth Rhodes, and Pat Ryan.

Rounding out the list is Antonio Delgado, Jeff Beals and Dave Clegg.

The 19th district runs from the Hudson Valley through the Catskills and includes Otsego County.

It is currently represented by Republican John Faso.

We have another Democratic Primary in New York's 23rd District which includes Owego and most of Tioga County. 

The five candidates on this ballot includes Linda Andrei, Ian Golen and Tracy Mitrano.

Plus Max Della Pia and Eddie Sundquist also are on Tuesday's ballot. 

The 23rd covers the western portion of the Southern Tier and much of the Finger Lakes.

It is currently represented by Republican Tom Reed.
