TOWN OF DICKINSON, N.Y. - A Pennsylvania man is facing charges after police say he led them on a pursuit while drunk.
New York State Police arrested Zachary Fry, 26, of Gouldsboro, PA around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Police say the arrest occurred after a trooper observed Fry's vehicle speeding at 98 mph in a 55 mph zone while on I-81 South in the Town of Chenango.
The trooper tried to stop him, but police say Fry accelerated to about 115 mph, and was observed driving in a reckless manner.
They say Fry then made a sudden stop partially in traffic just before the I-81 South/State Route 17 West split in the Town of Dickinson.
Police say Fry then surrendered to troopers without further incident.
They say Fry had a BAC of .26%, and also unlawfully possessed a loaded shotgun on the front passenger seat of his vehicle.
Fry was charged wtih the misdemeanors of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .26%, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree, Possession of a Loaded Firearm in or on a Motor Vehicle, and several other traffic violations.
Fry was arraigned in the Town of Dickinson Court and was taken to the Broome County Jail with bail set.
