Passenger traffic is up at the Greater Binghamton Airport

Local News

The Greater Binghamton Airport has announced that for the first time since 2010, passenger traffic has increased.

In the last year, total boardings have increased 14.5% from just over 32,000 to close to 37,000.

Broome County Commissioner of Aviation David Hickling believes that increased marketing techniques through digital and social media campaigns are responsible for the increase.

Load factors, which is the percentage of seats filled on flights, increased from 75 to 80% during that time.

Hickling says that increasing passenger traffic is key to securing interest from airlines to add additional flights and services at the airport.
