BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The home of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies will see more upgrades this off-season thanks to a donation from a late, life-long Binghamton baseball fan.
The City of Binghamton announced it has received over $195,000 from the estate of Marion O'Connor for improvements at NYSEG Stadium.
O'Connor died in December 2016 and requested the funds be used for maintenance, repairs, general expenses, and special projects.
The money will be used to upgrade concession areas and kitchen equipment, which have not been updated since the publicly owned stadium opened in 1992.
O'Connor used to attend games with her brother William O'Connor.
The Rumble Ponies are planning a Big Brother/Big Sister day next season in her honor.
