The domain name was established on May 1st using a proxy address, shielding the identity of the registrant.
Rich David tells NewsChannel 34 that he did not register the domain name nor did he authorize its creation.
David says he’s constantly being recruited to run for higher office but that right now his focus is solely on the City.
However, he does acknowledge traveling to Washington, DC at the invitation of Republican Congressional leaders, the National Republican Congressional Campaign and national consultants to discuss the possibility of a run against freshman Democrat Anthony Brindisi in New York’s 22nd District.
David says Republicans at the highest level are concerned about the declared and undeclared candidates’ ability to win.
And he says an organization with no ties to him has been running a poll about him.
The Mayor says he is also being courted to run for office at the state and county levels.
David is in his second and final term as Mayor of Binghamton due to term limits.
He says if he could, he’d rather run for a third term as Mayor.
He expects to make a decision by mid to late Summer.
