Local theater league lets fans test drive seats

Local News
Binghamton (WIVT) – Theater fans in the Southern Tier had the chance to find the perfect seat at a Broadway play.

The Broadway Theatre League hosted their “Test Drive Your Seat” event earlier this week at the Forum Theatre.

During the event, people could choose which seats they liked best, and reserve them for the season.

This year’s line-up includes a number of nationally famous performances that are currently on tour.

Tina Niles of the Broadway Theatre League said that the shows will help increase business in the downtown area.

“Bringing a show like this to Binghamton brings people out. It brings people down to the show, they go out to eat before the show or after the show, have drinks; it puts people into the restaurants, brings people downtown to do other things,” said Niles.

The shows that will be performing are 42nd Street, The Producers, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Annie, and Riverdance.
