February is American Heart Month, and local leaders are looking to bring more awareness to heart disease, the number one killer in the country.
Elected officials joined business leaders at the Security Mutual building today.
Security Mutual and Lourdes Ascension is partnering with the American Heart Association for the month.
Security Mutual will be lighting the top of its building red while Lourdes will be working to share information with the community.

Chapman says heart disease is preventable 80% of the time.
She says risk factors that are within your control including eating a healthier diet and being more physically active.
