KOA’s holds Care Camp Big Weekend fundraiser

Local News

With warmer weather upon us, campgrounds are beginning to open in our area.

That includes the Unadilla/Delaware Valley Kampgrounds of America in Franklin.

Established in 1969, the KOA location was purchased by Mike and Kathy McClure 16 years ago.

It features 84 sites across 29 acres, accommodating R-V’s and tents and it rents out 6 cabins.

The campground is nestled among rolling hills and picturesque countryside beside Ouleout Creek.

It offers themed weekends, raffles, potluck dinners, flashlight candy hunts and ice cream socials.

Kathy says there’s a great sense of community among campers of all ages.”It’s very comfortable, it’s kid-friendly.  People that stay here with their grandchildren and their children, they just don’t have to worry.  The pool is very active in the warm weather.  It’s very nice.”

The campground is participating in KOA’s Care Camp Big Weekend this weekend.

If a camper pays for Friday night, they can stay Saturday night for just $20 which will go toward the KOA Care Camps that offer camping experiences to children with cancer.
