Girl Scouts will be collecting cookie orders

Local News

It’s time once again for girls wearing patch-covered vests to start carrying around their order forms; Girl Scout cookie season is here.

Now through February, girl scouts will be collecting orders for the popular treats which are then delivered at the end of next month.

The Girl Scouts of NYPenn Pathways are offering the same lineup of cookies this year, Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, S’mores, Trefoils, Do-si-dos, Savannah Smiles and the gluten-free Toffee-tastics.

This year, all of the boxes will be $5.

Senior Director of Sales Andrea Mastronardi says that while the customers want to support a worthy cause, they also really enjoy the cookies. “People love their girl scout cookies. They have their favorites.  Obviously the thin mint is the number one selling girl scout cookie. People are constantly wanting to purchase them.”

In March, local troops will begin tabling in public.

This year, customers can also purchase boxes for the Rescue Mission through the Council Gift of Caring Program.

And anyone who buys at least five boxes will be entered into a sweepstakes to win a portion of $5,000 worth of cash prizes.

A portion of the proceeds from the sales goes directly to the troops to use for special opportunities including travel, camping, community service and STEM programming.
