Flu cases on the rise in New York

Local News

Governor Cuomo has announced that the amount of flu cases throughout the state is on the rise.

Last week the number of cases of influenza rose by 72% in New York State from the week prior.

New cases were reported in 58 of the 62 counties in the state.

In Broome County there were nine new cases of the flu reported last week.

To curb the spread of the flu the department of health is urging people to wash their hands with soap and water frequently and if you haven’t yet to get your flu shot for anybody over the age of 6 months.
