Binghamton (WIVT) – Beyond Words is the name of the latest installation from artist couple AmarA and jk opening Friday at the Bundy Museum in Binghamton.

It’s a series of paintings and mixed media collages focusing on universal emotions that can be difficult to properly express in words.

AmarA said it began with an exploration of gestures and facial expressions and then turned toward themes common to all humanity.

“Grief is grief. Joy is joy. Confusion is confusion. Whoever you are, everyone has felt this. Everyone knows this and this is one of the things that connects us to each other,” said AmarA.

Also at the Bundy, photos and paintings by Kathleen Gates in the little gallery.

Plus, Ithaca author J Pierre Reville will read from his book “Birding In The Face Of Terror” in the library.

And jk has hidden photos of Art Girl throughout the museum for people to find.

First Friday at the Bundy runs from 6 to 9.
