Fatality confirmed following plane crash in Bradford County

BRADFORD COUNTY, Pa. - Authorities are investigating following a plane crash in Pennsylvania.

Our sister station, WETM-TV in Elmira, reports that the Bradford County coroner has confirmed that at least one person has died following a small plane crash near the Bradford County airport.

First reports of the accident came in around 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday. 

An eyewitness told WETM that the plane crashed after takeoff from the Bradford County airport around 11:40 a.m. this morning.

The Federal Aviation Administration, along with the Pennsylvania State Police at Towanda, and Bradford County emergency management are at the scene, which is described as 'active'

A press conference regarding details of the accident will be held by the Pennsylvania State Police later in the evening.
