Endicott Fire Department receives over $16,000 in federal funding

Endicott firefighters are receiving some help from the federal government in keeping their equipment clean.

Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced that over $16,000 in federal funding will be given to the Endicott Fire Department.

The money comes from the Assistance of Firefighters Grant which is a program provided by the Department of Homeland Security.

The grant will go toward purchasing a new gear washer and dryer, as well as a breathing apparatus cleaner.
