BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Holiday revelers are preparing to trek to downtown Binghamton for the return of a Christmas extravaganza.
The DoubleTree Hotel is hosting its 3rd annual Christmas Experience starting this Friday.
Eight-hundred room packages over five nights sold out in less than half an hour back in October.
The stay includes activities for the kids, horse and carriage rides through downtown Binghamton, live reindeer, deejays, story-time with Mrs. Claus and a visit the next morning with Santa himself.
Plus, the hotel is decked out in decorations and over a million lights.
Event Coordinator Eddie Bello says it's a great way for families to get into the holiday spirit. "We have over 3,000 people expected to come into Binghamton for the event. They're coming from near and far. Endicott and Vestal but also 2 from Canada, 1 from Florida and the average radius is about 4 to 5 hours away that they're coming to Binghamton."
Bello asks motorists to be cautious around the Clydesdales that will be traveling through the downtown streets.
The Christmas Experience takes place this Friday and then again December 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd.
