Governor Cuomo has announced $3.9 million in state funding for airports in the Southern Tier.
The money will go toward four airports in the region to support safety enhancements, modernization of facilities, operational improvements, and local business development.
The Greater Binghamton Regional Airport will receive $828,000 to upgrade and modernize its aircraft fuel facility.
The Ithaca and Elmira airports will each be receiving $1.5 million in funding while the Corning-Painted Post airport in Steuben County is receiving $64,000.
The projects are funded through the Governor’s State Aviation Capital Grant Program initiative.
