Chenango Forks native returns to the area to open Southern Tier Cheesesteak Company

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - A Chenango Forks native who took his culinary skills on the road has returned to the area to open a new restaurant.

Nicholas Terzella is opening the Southern Tier Cheesesteak Company at 1237 Upper Front Street in the Town of Chenango.

After graduating from Forks, Terzella attended culinary school and opened a food truck called Bada Bing Cheesesteaks and Spiedies in the Washington DC area.

Terzella offers a chicken spiedie and cheesesteak sandwich along with a vegan cheesesteak option.

People can add their choice of cheese, including Whiz, the spreadable style used in Philadelphia, along with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and other toppings.

Terzella says he uses the best possible ingredients on his sandwiches.

"Most cheese steaks are made from a pressed and shaved product, similar to a Steak-Umm, while ours is real steak.  We use high quality cheeses and we do everything high quality right down to the seasoning.  We toast our black peppercorns before every service and grind them in our spice grinder," said Terzella.

The Bada Bing food truck is still operational and available for on-site catering.

Terzella has been booked by the Washington Redskins, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Kenny Chesney, and Luke Bryan.

Southern Tier Cheesesteak Company is holding a grand opening on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
