Hickories Park in Owego will be hosting the inaugural Boodenfooz Regional Music and Arts Festival later this month.
The event blends indie bands and high tech displays.
The bands are a mix of musical types from blues to pop rock.
And they’re coming from around the region, including Cortland, Corning, and Lackawanna, PA.
Plus, there will be a dome of drones, the Union-Endicott Tigertronics robotics team and a display from festival sponsor BAE Systems.
Promoter Russell Swanger of No Tuxedo LLC says Hickories provides a very comfortable atmosphere.
“There’s a semi-bowl here. So, on a nice day like today or that we’re going to have on the 14th, people can bring lawn chairs, blankets and they can sit in the lawn or on the sides of the hills and get a great view of not only the stage, but also all of the other festival activities,” said Swanger.
The event takes place on Saturday,July 14, with music running from noon until 10 p.m.
There will be a beer and wine garden, art village, marketplace, and food vendors.
Tickets are $12, although Swanger says many of the sponsors have free tickets available.
