A Binghamton man is dead after a head-on crash in the Town of Kirkwood.
The Broome County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened just after midnight on Thursday, June 1st on Court Street at Loughlin Road.
Deputies say James Church, 71, of Binghamton, was traveling south on Court Street and attempted to make a left turn on to Loughlin Road.
They say Church failed to yield to a north bound vehicle operated by a Binghamton woman, causing a head-on collision.
The Binghamton woman sustained minor injuries and was taken to Wilson Hospital, where she was treated and released.
Church was taken to Wilson Hospital, and then to Upstate Hospital in Syracuse, to be treated for his injuries.
Officials say he died Friday (June 2nd) night.
Deputies say Church was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
