BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - A Binghamton man suspected of breaking into a number of businesses, commercial buildings, and churches has been arrested.
Fifty-one-year old Jeffrey Martin of Binghamton was arrested Tuesday.
He's accused of breaking into and stealing from the Metro Inter-faith Apartments building and recreation room on Chenango Street, where he allegedly stole televisions, an amplifier and other electronics.
He's also accused of attempted burglary at a private practice law office on Court Street along with forcible entry of a commercial building.
Additionally, police say Martin is the suspect in a number of downtown Binghamton Church burglaries, however he has not been formally charged.
Police do not believe he is connected to the recent vacant home break-ins where people were stealing copper and other metals to sell as scrap for money.
Police expect more charges to be filed and the investigation is on-going.
Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents can call Binghamton Police at 607-772-7080.
