Though she doesn’t look as though she’s aged a bit, the classic Barbie doll is turning 60 this Summer.
The New York Skin and Vein Center on Pennsylvania Avenue in Binghamton threw a 60th birthday bash for Barbie last week.
Owner Doctor Eric Dohner chose the Barbie theme for one of his two annual parties this year.
About 100 women attended the event which included food catered by Bistro 163 in Binghamton, drinks and demonstrations of some of the non-surgical cosmetic and vein services the center has to offer.
Dohner says he prefers to throw parties and not just workshops. “This is a great way to give back to the community and, for the people who come, primarily women, to give to RISE which is my chosen charity in the area.”
Attendees were asked to bring a new toy to donate to the children of women staying at RISE, a shelter for victims of domestic violence.
RISE is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
The New York Skin and Vein Center is planning a workshop titled “I Hate My Neck” later this month.
