A yearly fundraiser to support men and women in uniform teed off in Apalachin.

BAE Systems 12th annual Tournament for the Troops took place at the Links at Hiawatha.

The tournament raises funds for scholarships for families of the 10th Mountain Division of the U.S Army.

The 10th Mountain Division is stationed at Fort Drum near Watertown.

BAE Systems Community Investment Lead Carrie Connors says the company wants to do its part to help those that do so much for our country. “One of our mottos at BAE Systems is we protect those who protect us. Us putting on this tournament to raise funds to support the U.S Army is just one of the ways we show that throughout our community.”

29 teams took part in the captain and crew tournament for a total of 116 golfers, 34 of which are BAE employees.

Since the tournament’s inception in 2007, it has raised more than $350,000 for the 10th Mountain Division Wounded Warriors Fund and Scholarship Fund.
