Community members will once again have the chance to get an inside look at places of worship in our area.
The Annual Sacred Sites Open House event will be taking place this Sunday.
Each year for the event, local churches open their doors so people can come in and see what they’re all about.
The theme for this year is From Medieval to Modern, celebrating New York’s religious art and architecture.
Chairperson of the Sacred Sites Committee Ron Borgna says this is a great chance for everyone to see all the different things going on inside churches. “It’s important that people see the interiors of these spectacular buildings. Normally people just drive by and that’s it. This is a chance for people to get inside and see all the works of art and architecture that these buildings have to offer and they’re right here in our neighborhood.”
23 different congregations will be taking part in this year’s event.
