UTICA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Utica man has been arrested for patronizing a prostitute.

On Friday, John Stemen, 57, was arrested by State Police.

Stemen was charged after an investigation revealed he met a 17-year-old on the internet and paid $200 for a “sexual date.”

Stemen was issued an appearance ticket for Utica City Court.

Stemen had worked for Congressman Anthony Brindisi. Brindisi’s office issued a statement on Friday that read, “As soon as we were made aware of the charges, John Stemen was immediately terminated from his position.”
