Binghamton Police have arrested a 61-year-old felon for a failed try at robbing a Westside bank.
Police have charged Philip Stein of Binghamton with attempted robbery.
Stein allegedly entered the Citizens Bank branch on Main Street at 10:25 AM and presented the teller with a note demanding cash and threatening that he had a gun.
However, police say Stein fled before receiving any money.
A patrol officer found Stein, who matched the description of the robber, nearby on Glenwood Avenue near Foundry Plaza.
Stein is also charged with violating parole.
Detectives do not believe he’s the same person who successfully held up the same bank back on February 23rd.
