With the calendar reaching the 4th of July, Highland Park is once again packed with patriotism.
Thousands of people traveled to Endwell’s Highland Park for their annual 4th of July celebration.
The event included a wide array of attractions from live music, games food, crafts and vendors.
A “Four on the 4” four mile run took place in the morning with proceeds benefitting the John Mack Foundation.
Wayne Weiler says he has been coming to the event most of his life.
Within the last few years he has become one of the vendors selling items he’s crafted himself.
Weiler says it’s a great event to get away from the stress of everyday life.
“Come for the fireworks, come for everything that’s going on here. The community puts this whole thing together we’re just a part of it. When you’re talking about let’s get together as people and just have a day to forget all the problems and just celebrate something worth celebrating, come on down,” he says.
The Highland Park July 4th Event wraps up as it does every year with a firework show at night.
Officials estimate that around 20,000 people watch their firework show every year.
