The 144th annual Broome County Fair is in full swing in Whitney Point.
The festivities include everything you’d expect at a fair from carnival rides and games to a wide selection of food.
There are also events and performances throughout the week such as tractor pulls, demolition derbies, trapeze artists and more.
Fair President Gary Cornell says that they have placed an emphasis on agriculture with farm animals and educational tools on hand.
He says there are many parts of the event you can enjoy without spending a dime.
“There’s all kinds of free entertainment we have. Plus buildings to walk through and look at stuff and the animals. So it’s not something once you pay to get into the gate you don’t have to pay to get into the grandstand. There’s stuff to do without having to go into the grandstand to watch the event going on,” said Cornell.
Cornell adds that on average about 30 thousand people come out to the fair each year.
It will be running rain or shine through Sunday.
