This weekend’s snowfall was welcome to skiers and snowboarders including an organization that helps the disabled learn to navigate the slopes.
Greek Peak Adaptive Snowsports is holding its 3rd annual fundraiser Tuesday evening at Cortese Restaurant in Binghamton.
Greek Peak Adaptive teaches skiing and snowboarding to people with physical and cognitive disabilities.
Each season, between 80 and 100 such clients are served by roughly the same number of volunteers.
And while the staff is volunteer, the specialized ski equipment is expensive along with the insurance and building maintenance.
Tomorrow’s event runs from 5 until 8 and features a buffet, cash bar, raffles and a silent auction.
Tickets are $25.
