The Chamber is being recognized for its new look and the way in which it unveiled it.
The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce has won a Communications Excellence Award from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives for its recent rebranding campaign.
The effort included a new city skyline logo, new website, social media, printed materials, signage, video and a new slogan: We’re here to build a Greater Binghamton.
And it was all introduced to the public during a rebranding bash that attracted 300 people to the MetroCenter back in February 2017.
Idea Kraft assisted with the branding material and BingPop helped to plan and promote the party.
President and CEO Jennifer Conway says the new brand has helped to reinforce the Chamber’s new strategic plan which centers on the 3 pillars of business advocacy, business promotion and building a vibrant community.
“One of the things that I’ve really heard from everybody is ‘Wow, I really see you everywhere now.’ I think that’s a key to that consistent branding message. So, when you get something from us, we’re consistent on our look and our feel and our message. So, you know when you’re seeing us everywhere, we kind of put it quietly everywhere,” said Conway.
The Chamber also announced that it has received a 5 year contract extension to operate the Southern Tier Welcome Center on Interstate 81 in Kirkwood.
Its staff assists visitors with tourism information about Greater Binghamton and the surrounding region.
The welcome center is overseen by Visit Binghamton Director Judi Hess who has now been promoted to Vice President of Tourism for the Chamber.
