Broome County is inviting families to take in a movie at local parks.
Cole, Dorchester, Greenwood and Recreation parks will all host free screenings this Summer.
The features will be shown on a screen projector for families to sit around.
Films include Monsters, Inc., Frozen and Inside Out.
The movies are scheduled to start at around 8:30 p.m., depending on the weather, but people are encouraged to show up at 7:30 p.m. to set up their seats.
A number of rain dates were also added.
Parks, Rec and Youth Services Director Matt Gawors says the family friendly event is a great way to bring people to local parks.
“We’re really trying to bring people together. My entire mission as a community member is to improve the financial, but also physical and mental health of our community. This definitely gets people outside,” said Gawors.
Before the movies begin, there will be games and raffles.
There will also be concession stands with treats such as ice cream, popcorn and hot dogs.
Movies in the Park is sponsored by the adopt-a-park program.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.
