“Fiddler on the Roof” comes to JCC

Broadway classics “Tradition,” “Matchmaker,” and “If I Were a Rich Man” will fill the JCC auditorium this weekend.

The Jewish Community Center is staging a performance of Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Jan DeAngelo and starring Claus Evans as Tevye.

DeAngelo said Evans has mastered the role of the Eastern European milkman struggling to keep his family together.

DeAngelo, who is also the center’s Health and Fitness Coordinator, says proceeds from the show will support new equipment for the JCC’s fitness room.

“It speaks to people on a variety of levels. It’s got a timeless kind of story. It’s about family, it’s about tradition, many people can relate to a lot of things that are happening,” said DeAngelo.

Other actors include Pam Wheaton, Missy Harris, Judy McMahon, Kate Murray and Chris Nickerson.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Tickets are $15 and are general admission.
