Father and son arrested for a a stabbing on Binghamton’s West Side


A father and son duo have been arrested in relation to a stabbing on Binghamton’s West Side.

66 year old Joseph P Brooks and his son 31 year old Joseph L Brooks were arrested in relation to a stabbing on Chapin Street.

On February 4th Binghamton police responded to a report of a stabbing victim.

The victim was identified as 46 year old year old Raymond Noel.

Noel suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. 

An investigation determined that several people including Noel were involved in a street disturbance and fight in the area of 133 Chapin Street, at which time Noel was stabbed by another involved. 

After the investigation police arrested both Brooks men yesterday.

The elder Brooks is accused of stabbing Noel while his son is accused of charging the victim while possessing a machete.
