A new celebration of various cultures is making its way to the area this weekend.
The first ever Ethnic Festival will be taking place Saturday at George W Johnson Park in Endicott.
The celebration will feature a wide variety of entertainment including polka, Irish dancers, an Italian Sing Along, African Drumming, and more.
Festival committee member Mary Grassi says they wanted to create an event to celebrate the area’s rich history and diversity.
She says there are multiple reasons why people should come and enjoy the day with them.
“Fun, lots of fun that’s what I think. And meeting your neighbors, meeting the people that live right here on the hill in this community. The people that patronize the businesses that hang out in the park here. Right around us the carousel is going it’s wonderful so come on up and see what we’re all about,” said Grassi.
Grassi says the event will also feature a variety of food options.
The Ethnic Festival has free admission and will kickoff at 2 p.m. and run until around 6. p.m.
