Hughes hits a three_1548391281888.JPG-118809342.jpg

Once is a fluke, twice is a coincidence, three times is a trend.  Syracuse continued a nice trend against Miami by hitting double digit three-pointers for the third straight game.  SU went 14-for-30 from deep. The end result was a 73-53 victory over the Hurricanes.

Elijah Hughes led the way with six makes from deep en route to 22 points.  Frank Howard and Buddy Boeheim each had three makes from long range.  Boeheim finished with 12 points, his second consecutive game in double figures.

Tyus Battle did not score in the first half, but came on strong after intermission to go for 10 points and a career-high nine assists in the contest.

With the win, Syracuse moves into a first place tie atop the ACC with the likes of Duke, North Carolina, and Virginia at 5-1 in conference play.

Next up for the Orange is a trip to Blacksburg, Virginia on Saturday to face the nationally-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies.
