Republican voters in the 122nd Assembly District chose experience over name recognition.
Longtime Assemblyman Cliff Crouch crushed newcomer Nick Libous, garnering over 70 percent of the vote.
Crouch has represented the district since 1995.
Libous is mostly known as the son of the late State Senator Tom Libous.
However, the primary is serving as only a warm-up for the November general election when the 2 men will face off again as Libous has already secured the Conservative Party line.
The 122nd district covers portions of Broome, Chenango, Delaware and Otsego counties.
