Constitution Pipeline construction hits significant delay

Construction on the Constitution Pipeline has hit a significant delay.

Constitution Pipeline Company has already completed most of the tree clearing for the Pennsylvania portion of the project, but is still waiting to receive water quality permits from New York.

The company says waiting for the permits means they can only get a limited amount of construction done before the fall, as they’d have to scale back throughout the spring and summer to not negatively impact migratory birds in the area.

The company says full construction would begin in October, resulting in the projected in-service date being pushed from the end of this year to the second half of next year.
