Freshman Congressman Anthony Brindisi made his first speech from the floor of the House of Representatives this morning.
In a speech broadcasted on C-SPAN, Brindisi pledged to work hard for and listen to his constituents in New York’s 22nd District.
During his little more than one minute at the podium, the Democrat spoke of skyrocketing healthcare costs, the need to bring jobs to Upstate New York and his support for farmers. “When I talk to Upstate New Yorkers, there is one thing I hear time and time again: Washington is broken. We are all tired of Washington’s partisanship, and I am here tonight to reiterate my promise to work with anyone who is willing to solve problems.”
Brindisi has already joined the bi-partisan Problems Solvers Caucus which also includes Republican New York Congressmen Tom Reed and John Katko.
