Community Closings and Cancellations

  • Binghamton University Students must notify Residential Life if they intend to check into their rooms early. Students who check in early can expect limited dining services.

    The main storm is expected to continue into Sunday, bringing more than a foot of snow to the Binghamton area. Students are urged to take this into consideration when determining when to travel to campus and are reminded that classes do not begin until Tuesday. Escape buses are delayed until Monday, Jan. 21. 

    Students who live off campus are urged to refrain from parking on city streets to assist with snow removal operations. Alternate side parking rules remain in effect and will be enforced. Vehicles parked illegally and blocking plow routes will be towed.

    OCCT plans to start service Sunday morning if roads are passable. There is no OCCT Saturday service.   • United Health Services urges patients to visit nyuhs.org to check on available locations and services throught the winter storm. 

  • Kopernik Observatory: Lunar Eclipse event scheduled for January 20 is canceled.

  • OLUM’s is closing all locations (01/20/2019)

  • Vestal Central School District buildings closed to weekend activities.

  • Fairview United Methodist Church: Sunday service is canceled and Monday’s food pantry will be closed.

  • First Congregational Church , 30 Main St. , Binghamton: Sunday service is canceled. 

  • Christ Episcopal Church on Henry Street, Binghamton: Sunday service is canceled.

  • Binghamton First Assembly of God: Sunday service is canceled.

  • Achive’s Community HAB & Rec Respite is canceled for Saturday and Sunday.

  • Chenango River Theatre has moved their 12th Annual Winter Gala to Saturday, Feb. 2, due to the impending snow storm: Tickets will remain available to this fundraising event, both online and by calling 607-656-8778.  The event will still be held at the Silo Restaurant (Greene) from 6-9pm, with Old Friends providing the entertainment and over 100 items available in the Silent and Live Auctions.   • Goodwill Theatre performances of Bam! It’s Magic for Kids featuring John Reid has been resheduled from 2PM to 10AM, The 7PM Performance of BAM! It’s Magic with Alex Boyce has been reschedued for 1PM
