Calvin Harris was arrested in Oneonta Thursday evening after a confrontation with a member of the New York State Police.

Harris confirmed this news himself to NewsChannel 34 Friday morning.

Harris claims he was arrested for stalking and harassment around 6 p.m. Thursday evening after a confrontation on a public street in Oneonta.

Harris claims these charges have no merit and says he was released around 10 p.m.

Harris says he will address the media Friday at 11 a.m.

New York State Police confirmed to NewsChannel 34 Friday morning that Harris was charged with stalking in the 4th degree in Oneonta Thursday night.

State Police say are planning on releasing more information later Friday.

Last month Harris was found not guilty of killing his estranged wife Michele Harris after she disappeared on September 11, 2001.

The not guilty verdict came after 15 years and four murder trials.
