Business of the Week: Travel Centers of America

News

Travel Centers of America is the Greater Binghamton Chamber Business of the Week.

The site at 753 Upper Court Street in Kirkwood has been a truck stop since the 1950’s and was purchased by Travel Centers of America in 1999.

It combines a diesel fuel station, convenience store and tractor-trailer repair shop with a full service eatery that’s open to everyone.

The Country Pride Restaurant serves all American fare with a salad bar in a family-friendly atmosphere.

“The waitresses are nice and friendly.  They try to talk to each person as if they’re a family member,” said Otis.

Otis says kids eat for free on Sundays and on the 4th of July Country Pride will be offering free meals to veterans and active duty military members.

Country Pride is open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week while the remainder of the travel center stays open 24/7.

In all, the complex employs around 60 people.
