The Bills secondary may have been one of the best in the league last year, but that didn’t stop Buffalo from adding two new players to it.

Safety Rafael Bush and corner Vontae Davis signed with the Bills during the off season.

Head Coach Sean McDermott is very pleased with the way Bush has shown what he can do up to this point. He is “one of our types of guys” according to McDermott.

“From what I’ve seen so far, he’s a darn good football player. I know it’s not fancy, but it’s effective.”. McDermott said.

Bush previously played for the Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, and recently with the New Orleans Saints.

Davis, on the other hand, comes to Buffalo from the Colts. Indianapolis released him after he suffered a season-ending groin injury that required surgery.

So far in training camp, there aren’t any issues with Davis’ health. McDermott liked the way Davis “ramped up the intensity” in Friday’s practice at New Era Field.

Still, he is hoping for more out of Davis.

“Much like our entire team, there’s still got to be a big movement between what happened last, or two nights ago, and what happens today and in the next couple of days as we move forward in through this week, here”. according to McDermott.

Prior to Davis’ stint with the Colts, he played for the Miami Dolphins.

Bush, Davis, and the Bills open preseason play Thursday Night at New Era Field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM.
