BU’s season ends at the hands of the Catamounts, 84-51

#7 Binghamton and #1 Vermont battling for a trip to the America East Championship game.

BU senior Timmy Rose hoping this wasn’t his final game.

Then, fellow senior Caleb Stewart knocks down a three pointer from the wing.

But, the Bearcats trailed by 30 at the half, and gave up 52 first half points, the second-most points they’ve allowed in any half of a game this season.

It didn’t get much better in the second half, Vermont just couldn’t miss.

Stef Smith set a new conference semifinals record with 8 three pointers, and finished with a game-high 28 points.

UVM put BU in a hole they had no shot of climbing out of as the Catamounts advance to the America East title game with an 84-51 win.

BU finishes the season 10-23.

Vermont will face defending champion UMBC after the Retrievers outlasted Hartford 90-85 in double overtime.
