BU Wrestlers head off to Pittsburgh, NCAA’s

On Tuesday, the four Binghamton University wrestlers who qualified for the NCAA Tournament, as well as head coach Kyle Borshoff, made the drive to Pittsburgh to prepare for the national championship tournament.

Zack Trampe, Anthony Sparacio, and Vincent and Lou DePrez, all qualified for the NCAA Tournament following their performances at the EIWA Championships two weeks ago.

Under Borshoff’s leadership, BU is sending the most NCAA qualifiers in six years and had another outstanding season as a team, which is something the Bearcats head coach believes will help every member of the program moving forward.

“I hope that these guys understand, and realize, and gain confidence from what we did this season, by rattling off ten-straight wins and having the most qualifiers we’ve had since 2013. So, as a team, it was a great accomplishment, and something we can keep building off of. But, all that stuff’s in the past now, and what matters right now is Thursday morning,” coach Borshoff said.

The tournament will feature two sessions a day from Thursday through Saturday, with the championships set to begin Saturday evening at 7:00 pm.
