Broome County High Schools’ Emerging Artists Competition & Exhibition

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Broome County Arts Council (BCAC) will open their annual Broome County High Schools’ 2019 Emerging Artists Competition & Exhibition to the public Friday, April 5, 2019 from 6-9pm at Artisan Gallery (on 95 Court St., next to Chroma Café). 

A private awards ceremony for participants and their families will be held in the Gallery from 5-6 PM. 

This year, the exhibition features 82 artworks (including 6 3D artworks) chosen by High School art teachers in the following School Districts: Binghamton, Chenango Valley, Johnson City, Maine-Endwell, Susquehanna Valley, Union-Endicott, Vestal, and Whitney Point. 

This annual competition is an anonymously adjudicated show, with judges chosen from a variety of art backgrounds. Additionally, a representative from FASST (Fine Arts Society of the Southern Tier) will be awarding a special prize for the “Best in Show” winner for the first time. Other awards will be presented by BCAC in the following categories: Composition, Line & Color, Originality, Use of the Medium, and Level of Difficulty.
