A 170 year-old institution just over the border in Pennsylvania opened its doors to an enthusiastic crowd today after having to rebuild after two fires.
The Brackney Inn officially reopened at 2 p.m. today.
Longtime patrons flooded in to examine the rebuilt bar and restaurant that’s been around since 1849.
The first fire in October 2017 started in a former upstairs apartment.
After redesigning and rebuilding, a second fire in June 2018 began during final work on the kitchen just weeks before the Brackney was scheduled to reopen.
Owner Greg MacBlane says the more modern, clean design retains the same rustic charm.
