Some local comedians have come up with a solution to Greater Binghamton’s lack of a dedicated comedy club.
They’ve created The Boho Pop Up Comedy Club which will stage its first evening inside Zone 225 in the basement of the DoubleTree Hotel in Binghamton.
The show will include headliner Ethan Herschenfeld, an actor and comic from New York City.
Albany-area comic Makenzi Berg will serve as host and local comedian Bill Lake will be the featured comic.
Lake, Giordi De Angelo and Mike Ciurzynski, creators of The Boho, learned that there is a local audience for humor from previous Comedy Crawls they’ve organized.
Lake says, “We know that Binghamton loves comedy, they love to come out for comedy, but we suffer here in Binghamton from a lack of a dedicated comedy club. So, this is our solution, to have a pop-up comedy club. Each time we do a show, whatever the location is, you’re going to feel like you’re walking into a real comedy club. Everything from the look and the feel of the club to the quality of the comics.”
The Boho debuts on Friday February 15th at 7:30 at the DoubleTree.
Lake and De Angelo say the plan is to hold monthly shows and move it around to different locations.
Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
